No one wants to think that someone would cheat at a game of chance, but of course, it can happen. If someone wanted to attempt to cheat at craps, they would have to use loaded dice that have been made to roll 11’s every time. However, the good news is that most casinos have many safeguards in place to catch cheaters. And, just in case your were considering trying to do this, you can get in serious legal trouble.
This is the type of dice you see in the movies when the con man is trying to rig the craps game. The dice have been created with more weight on one side so that when they are rolled, they are more likely to land with that face down. This means that the face that is up is the one you want and you have a loaded advantage. Casinos caught on to this and now use clear dice so that you can see the inside. It is impossible to weight dice without being caught.
This method is also easily detected by the casino using a micrometer to measure the faces. The idea is to alter the size of the faces so that some sides are bigger than other sides. The larger sides are more likely to land face down, giving you the advantage of knowing what the top one is going to be.
Some people seem to think they can get away with this method since it is hard to notice from just a quick glance. The idea is put the same number of dots on several faces so that the odds of getting that number are increased. However, you have to be able to get the dice on the table and since you can only use when hand and the casino has eyes in the sky, it is very hard to switch out dice.
Ultimately, loaded dice make for a good movie, but in real life it’s simply not worth the legal trouble not to mention total humiliation. Roll the dice you are given and ask Lady Luck for a hand.

As my mother would say “cheaters never win and winners never cheat”, even if you get by one time, you will get caught eventually.
